Our crochet stitch patterns section is different than our regular crochet pattern section. Crochet stitch patterns teach you how to crochet using a particular stitch pattern such as the popcorn stitch, ripple stitch and shell stitches. They are not patterns for a finished item. These commonly used stitches are used to create a variety of items such as hats, afghans, scarves etc.
This section is not intended to teach you how to crochet but to give you patterns and combination ideas to help you create your own beautiful works. It is also a great place to see what all the basic stitches look like. Bookmark this page for future reference! |

See what your finished work will look like when you work the single crochet stitch through both loops of your previous row. |
|
When you work the single crochet through the front loop only it produces horizontal lines throughout your work. |
|
By stitching the single crochet stitch through the back loops only you achieve a raised row pattern. |
|
The shallow single crochet stitch is a very tight weave where the stitches form a V shape. |

1 - 2 - 3- 4 - 5- 6 - 7 - 8 - Next A bit taller than the single crochet stitch, the half double crochet stitch works up quickly and is a bit looser weave than the basic double stitch. |
Look how different the half double crochet stitch appears when it is worked through the back loop only. |
The basic double crochet stitch is similar to the half double crochet stitch but there is one extra step which makes the finished stitch slightly taller. |
The treble crochet stitch is also referred to as the triple crochet. Our sample shows the treble stitch as it is worked through both loops of the previous row. |
