Description
This fun pattern looks like a snowflake. Make it using crochet thread and hang them up in the windows this winter. The six point motif also makes a great snowflake Christmas ornament.
Materials and Supplies
Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
sp = space
st(s) = stitch (es)
yo = yarn over
Craft Instructions
Special Stitches:
Bobble = 3 dc into next st until 1 loop of each remains on hook, yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
Picot = Ch 3, sl st into first of these ch
Round 1: Ch 2, 12 sc into 2nd ch from hook, sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), sk first sc, dc into next sc, ch 3 [1 dc into each of next 2 sc, ch 3] 5 times, sl st to top of ch 3.
Round 3: Sl st into next dc and ch 3 sp, ch 3 (count as 1dc), [2dc until 1 loop of each remains on hook, yo and through all 3 loops on hook, (bobble made at beg of round), ch 3, 1 bobble] into same ch 3 sp, ch 7, *[1 bobble, ch 3, 1 bobble] into next ch 3 sp, ch 7; rep from * 4 more times, sl st to top of first bobble.
Round 4: 2 sl sts into first ch 3 sp, ch 1, sc into same sp, *[6dc, 1 picot, 6dc] into next ch 7 sp, sc into next ch 3 sp; rep from * 5 more times, skipping sc at end of last rep, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
