Description
Although this pattern is designed to be made using three different colors, you could use just one or two colors if you prefer. As long as you know the single, double and chain crochet stitches and how to read a pattern, you should be able to use master the multi-colored parquet crochet stitch.
Materials and Supplies
Any weight yarn in three colors with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sp = space
st(s) = stitch (es)
tch = turning chain
Craft Instructions
Multiple of 3 sts + 1 (add 1 for base chain)
Work 1 row each of colors A, B, and C alternately throughout.
Row 1 (right side): Sc into 2nd ch from hook, *ch 3, dc into same place as previous sc, sk 2 ch, sc into next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (count as 1dc), dc into first st, sc into next ch 3 arch, *ch 3, dc into same ch 3 arch, sc into next ch 3 arch; rep from * ending ch 2, dc into last sc, sk tch, turn
Row 3: Ch 1, sc into first st, ch 3, dc into next ch 2 sp, *work [sc, ch 3, dc] into next ch 3 arch; rep from * ending sc into top of tch, turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3.
