I love the subtle dimension and the fun texture of this stitch. There are so many things you can make with this pattern! This crochet pattern is best suited for an experienced crocheter but you do not need to be an expert to master this stitch.

Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
sk = skip
st(s) = stitch (es)
tch = turning chain

Multiple of 4 sts + 1. (add 2 for base chain)

Special Abbreviation: 2Cdc (2crossed double crochets) = skip 2 sts, dc into next st, ch 1, dc into first of 2 sts just skipped working back over last dc made.

Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook *work 2 Cdc over next 3 ch, dc into next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), dc into first st, sk 1 dc, *dc into next st, work 2Cdc over next 3 dc, rep fro * ending 1 dc into last ch, sk 1 dc, 2 dc in last st, turn
Row 3: Ch 2, dc in 1st stitch, *work 2 Cdc over next 3 sts, dc into next st, rep from * ending last rep into top of tch, turn.
