Description
As you can see in the photo, the rows of the ornamental cable reach up and blend right into the rows above it in a welcoming fashion. This pattern requires a bit of experience but is not any more difficult than basic cable stitches.
Skill level: Intermediate to advanced.

Materials and Supplies
You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper). You will also need a cable needle for this stitch.

Special Abbreviation:
C6B = Slip next 3 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 3 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
C6F = Slip next 3 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 3 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
1st row (right side): K9, C6B, C6F, k9
2nd row and every alt row: P30
3rd row: K6, C6B, k6, C6F, k6
5th row: K3, C6B, k12, C6F, k3
7th row: C6B, k18, C6F.
8th row: P30.
Rep these 8 rows.
*To work a background of reverse stockinette stitch, in straight stitching, purl the first row, knit the second and repeat these two rows.
