Description
The Gentle Cable knitting stitch is worked in a panel of 5 stitches on a background or reverse stockinette stitch. You will have no problem memorizing this pattern as there are only two alternating rows.

Materials and Supplies
You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper).
Craft Instructions
Panel of 5 sts on a background of reverse St st*.
Special Abbreviation:
C2B = Slip next st onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next st from left-hand needle, then knit st from cable needle.
C2F = Slip next st onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next st from left-hand needle, then knit st from cable needle.
1st row (right side): C2B, k1, C2F.
2nd row: P5
Rep these 2 rows.
*To work a background of reverse stockinette stitch, in straight stitching, purl the first row, knit the second and repeat these two rows.
