Description
Using a series of simple knit and purl stitches, you can knit a garment with diagonal lines in it. It is actually a very easy pattern to knit and works up using just 8 repeating rows. You do not have to be an expert to follow this simple diagonal knitting pattern.
Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate
8 Stitch pattern repeat.
Materials and Supplies
You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper).
Craft Instructions
Multiple of 8 + 6.
1st row (right side): P3, *k5, p3; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
2nd row: P4 *k3, p5; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
3rd row: P1, k5 *p3, k5; rep from * to end.
4th row: K1, p5, *k3, p5; rep from * to end.
5th row: K4, *p3 k5; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
6th row: K3, *p5, k3; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.
7th row: K2, p3, *k5 p3; rep from * to last st, k1.
8th row: P2, k3, *p5 k3; rep from * to last st, p1.
Rep these 8 rows.
