Description
The checkerboard lace pattern is one that has a very airy look. It knits up quickly but requires some experience to complete. None of the stitches are particually difficult but you will have to keep close attention to which stitch and row you are on.
Skill level: Intermediate
12 Stitch pattern repeat.
Materials and Supplies
You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper).
Craft Instructions
Multiple of 12 + 8.
1st row (right side): K7, *[yo, k2tog] 3 times, k6; rep from * to last st, k1.
2nd and every alt row: Purl.
3rd row: K7 *[K2tog, yo] 3 times, k6; rep from * to last st, k1.
5th row: As 1st row.
7th row: As 3rd row.
9th row: K1, *[yo, k2tog] 3 times, k6; rep from * to last 7 sts, [yo, k2tog] 3 times, k1
11th row: K1, [k2tog, yo] 3 times, *k6, [k2tog, yo] 3 times; rep from * to last st, k1.
13th row: As 9th row.
15th row: As 11th row.
16th row: Purl
Rep these 16 rows.
