Description
Our spider web decoration is a suitable craft for adults and for older children to make with supervision. A hot glue gun is needed for this fun Halloween craft. You can make any size web you like but the sample pictured measures approximately 7 to 7 1/2" across. If making a larger web, add additional glue circles.
Materials and Supplies
Craft Supplies:
- Wax paper
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Fine or ultra fine white glitter
- Suction cup with a hook for hanging
Craft Instructions
- Lay a piece of wax paper, wax side up, on your work surface. The wax paper should be larger than you want your fished spider web to be.
- Using a hot glue gun, squeeze out a dot at least 3/4" wide in the center of the wax paper. Make 8 lines of glue coming out from this dot. Make sure all the lines touch the dot.
- Using the hot glue, draw three circles starting close to the center and working your way out.
- While the glue is still wet/hot, sprinkle with glitter. You may need to stop gluing and sprinkle with glitter then continue to keep the glue from cooing off before the glitter is sprinkled on
- Let the spider web cool down completely then tear or cut away the excess wax paper from outside the web.
- We left the wax paper inside the web, but you can cut it out if you prefer.
- To hang your spider web in a window, make a small hole in the wax paper close to the outer edge and put the hook from the suction cup with hook through this hole. Then, simply attach the suction cup to any window or mirror.
