Filled Oval Cable Knitting Stitch
This is a simple pattern to follow especially if you have already mastered cable stitches. It is knitted in a panel of 8 stitches on a background of reverse stockinette stitch worked over a 12 row pattern repeat.

Special Abbreviation:
C8B = Slip next 4 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 4 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
C4B = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
1st row (right side): K8.
2nd row: P8.
3rd row: C8B
4th row: P8
5th and 6th rows: As 1st and 2nd rows.
7th row: K2, C4B, k2.
8th row: P8.
9th to 12th rows: Rep the last 4 rows once more.
Rep these 12 rows.
*To work a background of reverse stockinette stitch, in straight stitching, purl the first row, knit the second and repeat these two rows.
