Reindeer Ball Ornament

Turn an ordinary glass or satin ball ornament into a whimsical reindeer ornament.

Materials:
  • One solid colored satin or glass ball ornament
  • Two 15mm Googly eyes
  • One 1" Tan pompom
  • Two 1/2" Tan pompoms
  • One 1/4" Red pompom
  • 8" x 6" piece of white or tan felt
  • 10" Piece of thin red ribbon or monofilament
  • Hot glue gun or Glue dots*

*You can use either hot glue or glue dots to attach all of the pieces. Hot glue should only be used by adults or older children with supervision as serious burns can occur.

Hint: If making this project with young children, complete step #1 for them ahead of time.


  1. Using the pattern provided, trace and cut out two antlers from white felt.
  2. Glue the flat edge of the antlers to the top of the ornament just in front o the hanger.
  3. Glue one of the 1/2" tan pompoms where the antler and ornament meet. Repeat with the other 1/2" pompom and antler.
  4. Attach the larger tan pompom approximately 2/3 of the way down the face and glue the small red pompom to the center of it for a nose.
  5. Glue the two googly eyes to the ornament between the nose and the antlers.
  6. Thread a 10" piece of ribbon or monofilament through the eye hook on the top of the ornament and tie the ends in an overhand knot.
