Description
Let kids get creative with this fun Christmas craft. They will use craft foam and post-it notes to make a note pad refrigerator magnet shaped like a gingerbread man. This is an easy gift that kids can make for teachers, parents, grandparents or just about anyone. When you run out of post-it notes, just glue another pad on and keep using him year after year.
Materials and Supplies
Craft Supplies:
- Brown or tan craft foam
- Magnetic strip; 1 1/2" piece
- 1/4" Pink pompom
- Two 15mm wiggly eyes
- Post-it note pad; 3" square
- Markers
- Tacky Glue
Craft Instructions
- Trace and cut out one gingerbread man from craft foam.
- Glue the top edge of a pad of post-it notes onto the body of the gingerbread man just below his head.
- Using markers, decorate your gingerbread man.
- Glue on two eyes and a pompom nose. Draw on a mouth.
- Attach a 1 1/2" piece of magnet to the back of your gingerbread man. Many magnets are self stick (you just peel off the paper and stick it on) If your magnet isn't self stick, use the tacky glue to attach the magnet.
Suggestions:
- Save time and buy pre-cut craft foam gingerbread men from your local craft store.
- Save any magnetic business cards that come in the mail and use them for your craft projects. You can cut them to size with scissors and just glue them on.
- You could use glitter glue or fabric paint in squeeze bottles instead of markers to decorate your gingerbread men.
